Human nature - part 1

Most of you must have watched the video I posted that showed a little bit about the human nature and our similarity with our lovely friends monkeys :-)

I have talked to some friends of mine - online and offline ones - about what we really are, and they suggested me that I should write down some of our thoughts and conclusions about human nature.

Topic of the day? All humans are selfish.

Exactly! The truth is that all our acts are based in an unconscious need of satisfying ourselves.

Don't need to panic, I will make myself clear.

The questions we have to make to ourselves are: why the happiness of a friend also makes me happy? Why do we want the happiness of our beloved ones? What is behind human solidarity and what makes us help each other?

The answers are pretty simple: we do that because deep inside we just want to be happy too.

For example, you all have heard about Bartira (one of my best friends ever). Why her happiness is so important to me? Because I am happy when she is happy, and I would be sad if something were wrong with her. So, the truth is that if I do something that I know will make her happy, then I am not doing this something only to please her. As a matter of fact, I would do something nice to her because "I" would be happy and pleased.

Can you guys also see things from this point of view? When we do something to please each other, we are actually seeking for our own happiness.

Hey, don't worry guys! The fact we are all selfish and do those things because of our own interests doesn't make us bad people. This is who we are as human beings, and there is nothing wrong about being this kind of selfish.

You guys have to remember that we might all be selfish, but the idea is to try to use this in a good way ;-)

Do you wanna know what lead my friends and I to this talking? We're talking about the fact that only few of you read the blog spontaneaously and I recently found out that nobody had noticed about all the nice tools and settlings that I had put on the blog. So, we tried to understand "why does Lucy write her blog?".

I wanna make it clear that I am not angry because of that.

By the way, I have a question to all of you:

Can anyone guess why do I keep writing in this blog?

Come on guys, use your brains and try to give good answers ;-)

I didn't want to write a too long post otherwise no one would read it. I tried to summarize the main idea of my recent thoughts as much as possible, let's see if that was enough :-)
